How to Waste $340,000

Watching the pro-Hamas student protesters this week at Columbia University and NYU made me wonder what their parents must be thinking.

Do they nod their heads in approval as their pampered children defend a terrorist organization that brutally raped women and beheaded children on October 7th?

Do their hearts swell with pride as their trust fund babies chant “Death to Israel” and “Death to the U.S.”?

For the privilege of having their clueless kids indoctrinated by liberal professors, anarchists, socialists, and communists, these equally clueless parents fork over an average of $85,000 per year to Ivy League schools.  Here is an actual breakdown…

Columbia University:

Tuition: $60,514

Mandatory Fees: $3,016

Books and Personal Expenses: $3,604

Total: $82,584

Non-NY State Resident Tuition: $62,456

Dartmouth College:

In case you’re wondering, Brown University charges a whopping $88,948 per year for students to be indoctrinated in radical liberalism while NYU tops the brainwashing list at $74,932 for commuting students and a mindboggling $93,184 for those living on campus.

That’s $340,000 of Mommy and Daddy’s hard-earned money flushed into the sewers of Providence, Rhode Island and the Big Apple, respectively.  And since only 40% – 45% of college students graduate within four years and only 2/3 receive their diplomas within six years, that $340,000 figure is actually closer to $500,000.

I don’t know about you, but I can think of a lot better ways to spend half a million dollars than by transforming my children into Progressive zombies who recite verbatim what their professors teach them… and what the paid protest organizers tell them to say.

It is disturbing and disheartening to listen to some of the student protesters being interviewed.  They chant “From the river to the sea,” but when questioned by reporters, they can’t name which river or which sea.  Likewise, protester after protester denied that the October 7th massacre of innocent Israeli men, women, and children even occurred.

What comes next: denying that the Holocaust actually took place?

Even scarier is the fact that because of their family’s wealth and social position – as well as their degree from an Ivy League institution – many of today’s protesters will go on to become tomorrow’s leaders.  Just like the “flower children” of the 1960s who became society’s movers and shakers 20 years later, some of today’s student protesters will someday line the halls of Congress, sit in corporate boardrooms, and serve as tenured professors.

God help us all…
