Here’s why you need to vote early in N.J. this year

Early in-person voting in New Jersey runs from Saturday, October 25th through Sunday, November 2nd.

You can click here to find your local county early vote location.

I’ve heard some of you questioning why early voting is important. I can make it pretty simple, Save Jerseyans, and hopefully you’ll walk away convinced:

  • You never know what’s going to happen on Election Day.

You get sick. Your kid gets sick. Your car breaks down. A pipe bursts at your polling station and it closes for a few hours. There aren’t enough voting machines – like in Burlington County last year – and you can’t stand in line long enough to cast a ballot because of childcare demands. The ancient poll worker can’t find you on the precinct rolls and you’re forced to cast a provisional ballot (or head to Superior Court). Yes, unexpected stuff happens every first Tuesday in November, Save Jerseyans, and when you procrastinate, you have less time to figure it all out.

Why risk it? Or said another way… do you really trust N.J. state government to successfully oversee a 21-county election day without any issues?

  • It aids the cause by avoiding the waste of campaign resources.

This is an underdiscussed biggie. Modern get out of the vote operations are highly targeted operations. Remember: when you vote, that’s one less voter in the campaign’s targeted universe whom they need to chase. No more calls or door knocks! Because GOTV is expensive. We want the Ciattarelli campaign and its allied organizations to be able to focus their finite resources on as few voters as possible during the final multi-million dollar GOTV push. Don’t waste their time (and money) by forcing them to chase you until the 11th hour.

  • You’re freed up to help.

Your local Republican Party could use help tracking down elusive low propensity voters on Election Day. If your vote is already banked? You’re free to assist!
