Trump Urges New Jersey Voters to Back Van Drew, Smith and Kean in Midterm Election

WASHINGTON, D.C. — President Donald Trump is making a direct appeal to New Jersey voters with less than two weeks remaining before the November 3rd midterm elections, urging them to support the Garden State’s three incumbent Republican congressmen.

In a message addressed to New Jersey voters, Trump singled out Congressmen Jeff Van Drew (NJ-02), Chris Smith (NJ-04), and Tom Kean Jr. (NJ-07), reiterating his support for all three Republicans.

“TO THE GREAT PEOPLE OF NEW JERSEY, MAKE A PLAN TO VOTE FOR,” Trump declared before listing the three incumbents.

“These Great Patriots have my Complete and Total Endorsement — They will never let you down!” the president added.

The message comes as Republicans work to defend their congressional majority in the final stretch of the 2026 election cycle.

Van Drew, a former Democrat who switched parties in 2019 and became one of Trump’s most prominent New Jersey allies, is seeking another term representing South Jersey’s 2nd Congressional District. He faces Democrat Zack Mullock.

Smith, the longest-serving member of New Jersey’s congressional delegation, is seeking reelection in the 4th District, which includes portions of Monmouth and Ocean counties.

Kean, meanwhile, is defending his 7th District seat in Central and North Jersey. His district has attracted significant national attention in recent election cycles.

All three incumbents have previously received Trump’s endorsement.

The president’s latest message also underscores the Republican Party’s focus on turnout as early voting approaches in New Jersey.

While Democrats currently hold nine of New Jersey’s twelve U.S. House seats, Republicans are defending the three districts specifically highlighted by Trump.

Election Day is Tuesday, November 3rd.
