Democrat Zack Mullock gets his shot at Republican Congressman Jeff Van Drew on Thursday evening, but the challenger faces a steep uphill climb in a South Jersey district that has moved decisively rightward in recent years.
With less than two weeks until Election Day, the two NJ-02 candidates will square off at 6 p.m. in a one-hour debate co-sponsored by Stockton University’s William J. Hughes Center for Public Policy and The Press of Atlantic City. Van Drew enters as the heavy favorite, while Mullock will try to convince voters that a district increasingly comfortable with Donald Trump and his outspoken congressional ally is suddenly ready for a change.
There won’t be an in-person audience, but voters can watch live on the Hughes Center’s YouTube channel, ON NJ, or The Press website.
