NRSC Spokesman Tells Save Jersey Booker Might Find Senate Campaigning More Difficult to Master Than Social Media

Cory Booker’s team is out collecting signatures tonight for August’s special U.S. Senate primary, Save Jerseyans, while at least a few Republicans (and a couple Democrat congressmen) jockey for the same coveted spot.
The National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) is unsurprisingly supportive of Governor Christie’s controversial Senate vacancy plan, but they also aren’t as impressed with Booker as his prospective rivals.
Brad Dayspring, NRSC Communications Director, told Save Jersey on Wednesday evening in a statement that the Newark Mayor might be in for a rude awakening:
Governor Christie is a Jersey guy thru and thru and who has always made decisions based upon what he feels is best for his beloved Garden State. Democrats will now face an ugly primary sprint between Cory Booker, Frank Pallone, Rush Holt and potentially others – all with substantial war chests and a healthy dislike for each other. Cory Booker did not want to have to wrap this up in two months against two well funded Democratic opponents. Frankly, we’re not sure that Cory Booker can rise to the occasion in this race, since campaigning is so different from appearing on television or tweeting.”
That, and cooking a sweet potato on YouTube!
