Governor Chris Christie is heading to Dixie tomorrow, Save Jerseyans, starting a two-day swing through Georgia and Florida for his PAC, but before he left Kim Guadagno in charge, he proactively declared a state of emergency ahead of Thursday’s snow event.
State offices will open late at 11:00 a.m.
“Tonight’s storm is expected to produce travel hazards and potentially cause power outages throughout the state,” said Governor Christie in a statement. “I’ve authorized state officials to take all necessary action to prepare, and my Administration will continue monitoring conditions throughout the remainder of the storm. I encourage all New Jerseyans to drive carefully and remain off the roads if possible so that our first responders and public safety officials can safely respond to any emergency situations. “
Winter Storm “Thor” (naming these things is ridiculous, btw) is predicted to bring heavy snow, mixed precipitation, and freezing temperatures to the Garden State; parts of the state closer to the Delaware River could see 8 or more inches of snow according to both the NWS and Accuweather. Christie’s executive order authorizes State Director of Emergency Management to put responsive wheels in motion.
Tell the moron not to.come back. US in Jersey Don t need him.
It’s such an emergency he has to flee the state.
Do I detect that someone is abandoning ship and heading for the lifeboat?…lol
