VIDEO: N.J. taxpayers won’t get reimbursed if Murphy’s “free” community college attendees flunk out

TRENTON, N.J. — The Murphy Administration’s causal disregard for the financial consequences of its nanny state proposals was again on full display this Wednesday during a meeting of the Assembly Budget Committee.

Assemblywoman Nancy Munoz, a Republican from Union County, asked acting Secretary of Higher Education Zakiya Smith Ellis whether students receiving “free” community college under a new plan presented by Governor Murphy would need to repay taxpayers in the event that he or she flunks out.

Ellis’s answer was an unequivocal “no.”
