WASHINGTON, D.C. — New Jersey’s U.S. senators have been nothing less than unhinged as of late! It’s been something to watch. We’ve spent most of our digital ink on Cory Booker (D-Twitter).
Bob Menendez, for his part, is eager to discuss anything other than his near-brush with a long prison sentence, Save Jerseyans, so when Donald Trump said this on Friday…
Lebron James was just interviewed by the dumbest man on television, Don Lemon. He made Lebron look smart, which isn’t easy to do. I like Mike!

…Menendez followed up with this on Monday:
Let's just say it – if LeBron James was white, President Trump never would have questioned his intelligence or his charity work. How do I know? Let's check the history…

That was the first of SEVERAL tweets about Trump and race and the KKK and a number of other strange non-sequiturs. I’m not going to include them all here; what’s the point of giving this sort of nonsense a forum?
Trump is hardly the one who threw the first punch, by the way. LeBron has criticized Trump on many occasions, so the President throwing a little shade back at the NBA star isn’t surprising.
It also doesn’t have anything to do with race, childish as you may think POTUS can be.
Our President is an equal opportunity verbal combatant is nothing else! Ask Mitt Romney, and if that’s not enough for you, here’s a list of seven times the President has called white men dumb courtesy of The Washington Examiner. Predatory politicians like Menendez boorishly attempt to contort the facts into a racial narrative, of course, because politics. So what would have otherwise been a debate about Trump’s temperament and “tone” transforms into something far more serious and divisive.
One thing Trump and Menendez do share in common: an inability to stay on topic.
