TRENTON, N.J. – The New Jersey Assembly voted overwhelmingly on Thursday to expand patients’ access to medical marijuana.
But patients will need to pay, and pay dearly.

The State of New Jersey already suffers for having among the most expensive medical marijuana markets in the country. So are Democrats really interested in social justice? Or making a fast buck on some of the Garden State’s most vulnerable residents?
Assemblyman John DiMaio (R-23), the GOP’s budget officer, fought on the floor for a tax waiver. Unsurprisingly, a motion to exempt medical pot from the state sales tax failed, 45-27.
