FAR OUT: N.J. Democrats propose $250k for taxpayer-funded UFO studies scholarship

Congress is holding the first unidentified flying object (UFO) hearing in half of a century today on Capitol Hill, Save Jerseyans, and given the fact that there’s been a number of documented near-misses with our own aircraft? It’s probably time to revisit the issue of UFOs with a critical eye.

Trenton Democrats have apparently decided to earn some free press from a UFO-interested media by doing what they do best here on this planet: spend taxpayer money.

Assembly bill 4060 is posted on the legislature’s website; while the proposed legislation’s text isn’t viewable, the available description explains that the bill “[e]stablishes scholarship program for graduate students and postdoctoral researchers studying unidentified aerial phenomenon and extraterrestrial technological signatures” and “requires Secretary of Higher Education to establish grant program.”

The proposed appropriation is $250,000.

Deputy Speaker Raj Mukherji and Herb Conway Jr. are the Democrat sponsors. There’s no indication as of yet what the intent of the program might be or, more specifically, if figuring out wherever the fuck Phil Murphy came from would be part of the subsidized course of study. I guess that might be worth the hefty price tage but somehow I doubt that’s the goal.

Out of this world, you say?

Nah; just another day in Trenton where they’re happy to spend your money on frivolous items if they think it can win a vote or earn a media hit.
