Senior Arizona Senator Grills Secretary of Defense Nominee On Iraq War Surge
By Matt Rooney | The Save Jersey Blog
Some Save Jerseyans aren’t too keen on Senator John McCain, largely because of his “maverick” tendencies on “domestic” issues ranging from immigration reform to campaign finance reform.
But you’ve got to be honest, folks: when it comes to foreign policy, this war hero is rock solid and unwavering in his defense of our country’s best interests. Just look what he did to Secretary of Defense Nominee Chuck Hagel today during the Senate Armed Services Committee’s confirmation hearing:

Wow, right?
You can click here to read Chuck Hagel’s opening statement if you’d like, but after viewing that video, what else do you need to see? This guy’s been wrong about every major foreign policy decision since the Cold War. And rather than man-up and admit he was wrong to oppose the ultimately successful Iraqi surge, he ducked and dodged before lamely responding to John McCain’s inquiry by saying “the surge assisted in the objective.”
Translation from D.C. speak to real world English: “Yes, it worked.”
Even the liberal twittersphere thought today’s public hearing for President Obama’s nominee was an abject disaster. And Iraq was just the beginning…
Unbelievable!
Hagel is a great choice!
Come on Iran supports his nomination who are we to argue with those guys
