Feds to Probe Planned Parenthood

Chris Smith on House FloorPromising news in the fight to protect our republic’s most vulnerable citizens, Save Jerseyans.

The Government Accountability Office (GOA) will investigate the use of federal funding by America’s largest abortion provider, Planned Parenthood.

This announcement was made earlier in the week by U.S. Senator David Vitter (R–LA), Representatives Diane Black (R–TN), Pete Olson (R–TX), and our very own pro-life champion Chris Smith (R–NJ).

Planned Parenthood certainly doesn’t need the money. It netted almost $90 million in 2011 and boasts $1.2 billion in assets; nevertheless, it received over half of a billion in taxpayers dollars that same year. Amazing cash flow didn’t stop Planned Parenthood from allegedly practicing improper billing of Medicaid for non-family planning services provided here in New Jersey.

Improper billing practices also haven’t stopped Trenton Democrats from demanding millions of state tax dollars for these abortionists and, most recently, Barbara Buono from seeking expanded Medicaid coverage for family planning.

Let’s focus on the issue at hand: even if you are partial to infanticide, Save Jerseyans, why the hell should taxpayers — pro-life, pro-choice, pro-coin flip, whatever — willingly subsidize a billion dollar organization that’s currently fleecing us?

Giving this organization another single dime is the very definition of insanity. We’ll await further confirmation from Rep. Smith and GOA…

Congressman Smith is also soilidly against Obamacare. As Council President of Hamilton, I am proud that Chris Smith is my Congressman.
