The big New Jersey House delegation story today is Frank Pallone’s upset victory for top ranking Democrat on the influential House Energy and Commerce Committee over the Pelosi-backed Anna Eshoo, Save Jerseyans, but Republicans will boast a strong majority in the U.S. House of Representatives beginning in January, and another N.J. congressman is also strongly-situated on this powerful committee.

On Wednesday, Congressman Leonard Lance (NJ-07) was reappointed Vice Chair of the Commerce, Manufacturing and Trade Subcommittee of the House Energy and Commerce Committee for the 114th Congress.

“The Energy and Commerce Committee has been the most productive committee in Congress, passing more bills into law than any other committee in either the U.S. House or Senate,” said Rep. Lance in a statement released by his office. “I look forward to continuing to be at the center of congressional efforts to create jobs, strengthen our manufacturing sector, spur economic growth and enact health care reforms that are affordable for all Americans.”

Lance also serves on the Health Subcommittee and the Communications and Technology Subcommittee. He’s used his growing clout to advocate for everything from the Keystone XL Pipeline to the replacement and repeal of Obamacare.
