A Bright Spot for Chris Christie in the New LD-14?

Republicans don’t have much to celebrate today, but there may be a bright spot for the Governor in one of his party’s most perennially disappointing districts: LD-14.

State Senator Linda Greenstein (D-Plainsboro) defeated Tom Goodwin (R-Hamilton) in a 2010 special election. Although Plainsboro remains in the district, West-Windsor is out while Robbinsville and East Windsor come in. This may create a more competitive district for Republicans who had a lock on the 14th’s state senate seat until Bill Baroni stepped down in February 2010 for a job at the NY-NJ Port Authority.

Richard Kanka of Hamilton, the force behind Megan’s Law, has been discussed as a possible challenger to Greenstein for 2011.
