Judgment Day Tomorrow, What Should Christie Do?

Well Save Jerseyans, I posted about this way back when I took over this blog last fall, and the Rapture, which seemed like it was so far in the distance back then, is finally upon us. I originally spotted the first advertisement for this movement on the side of a van in a Cherry Hill Super Wawa parking lot.

Then the billboards started going up, and then in Trenton, just down the street from the state house, I saw this car, and after thinking about how silly this person is going to feel on Sunday, I thought to save the picture for just this post.

The movement is now being covered by every major news outlet. Not in any serious way of course, but as a matter of public interest. According to some crazy fringe Christian group led by some guy who interprets the Bible in snippets written literally hundreds of years apart, May 21st marks exactly 7,000 years since the flood and Noah’s Arc. Tomorrow will then begin five months of torment, ending in the world being engulfed in flames on October 21 of this year.

Revelation 9:3-5 And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power. And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads. And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months: and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion, when he striketh a man.

I don’t know about you, but that sounds miserable to me! Scorpions with the intention to torture instead of kill? I am not prepared for this, or the impending Zombie Apocalypse that the CDC used our tax dollars to warn us about. It made me think earlier today, ‘man, I wish we had simpler gun laws in New Jersey, that would come in handy to fight the scorpions.’

So I ask you Save Jerseyans, on this, our final Friday together. In the event of the Rapture tomorrow where those of us unsaved souls will be left here on earth to perish as those during the flood of Genesis, what measures would you have the Governor take in this obvious state of emergency to give us a fighting chance? If we have five months left in New Jersey, what do you want changed immediately to make it just a bit more enjoyable before eternal damnation? Issues like property tax rebates, pension and benefit reform, and school choice clearly become meaningless during the time of tribulations, so what becomes the new pressing issue of our (limited) time?
