Vice President of the United States and gaffe machine par excellence Joe Biden was on ABC yesterday morning and, somewhat surprisingly, gave a polite nod to a fellow Blue Hen:
Actually, Christie’s a good guy. Christie is a fellow University of Delaware graduate, and a phenomenal football fan. He comes to all our home games…I like him.”
See, Senator Weinberg? There’s no need for a tracking device! Good ole’ Joe can vouch for Governor Christie whenever he leaves the Garden State for a little Delaware football.
Long-time readers may remember that Biden campaigned against Chris Christie back in 2009. His visit shut down a tunnel, destroyed the evening commute and cost state taxpayers tens of millions of dollars. It’s a long story best saved for another time. That said, he must’ve gained a healthy, firsthand respect for our Governor’s political skills. When asked whether Christie could be a serious contender in the 2012 general, Mr. Veep was a tad more reserved:
Well, New Jersey is a big important state. He’s at the top of his game right now.”
Although we’re not THAT big, Joe. Just full of big personalities, like Governor Christie. And the Cake Boss. But I guess we must seem kind of huge compared to the Small Wonder and its former senator, huh?
