Senator Doherty to Endorse Ron Paul…Again

Senator Mike Doherty (R-LD23) is reportedly set to announce his endorsement of Congressman Ron Paul for President in the 2012 GOP primary race. The internet was buzzing with the news early this afternoon, leaving me to wonder why.

Senator Doherty is a strong conservative, especially when it comes to issues involving personal liberties, the state funding of education, and taxes. A lot of his positions match up quite solidly with Congressman Paul. But thats not even the reason that the reason that his endorsement should be more a of a “duh” announcement than a newsworthy surprise.

Senator Doherty endorsed Ron Paul way back in 2007, before it was “cool” to agree with Ron Paul on the economy. Now if Doherty went and endorsed Bachmann or any other candidate, now that would be news!

  1. I think the buzz is around the fact that Ron Paul himself will be at the statehouse on the 26th to accept the endorsement. Can't wait!
