Pelosi Lands a Solid Kick on Perry When He is Already Down

Earlier this week, Presidential candidate and brain-fart victim Rick Perry challenged House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi to a debate. Consider that Nancy Pelosi has almost nothing to do with the Presidential primary other than being a favorite foil of the GOP, and the fact that no one expected Pelosi to accept such a challenge, it was clearly done for headline grabbing reasons and nothing more. Perry simply wanted to make sure that when you typed his name into Google, the first few things you saw would not be about his 53 second blunder anymore.

Pelosi did not just ignore the challenge like most expected. Don’t mistake me, she did turn it down, but her response was probably one of the most clever things she has ever said, ever. From Politico:

He did ask if I could debate here in Washington on Monday. It is my understanding that such a letter has come in,” Pelosi said in the Capitol Thursday. “Monday I’m going to be in Portland in the morning, I’m going to be visiting some of our labs. I’m in California in the afternoon, that’s two. I can’t remember what the third is.

So much for that strategy huh, Rick?
