@GovChristie Touts Partnering of Public and Private Sector in Atlantic City (VIDEO)

Not everyone is a fan of the new “Do AC” advertising campaign.

Your Blogger-in-Chief has also shared the concerns of those who adopt a hyper-skeptical posture whenever a government tries to artificially buoy a private or regulated industry with tax dollars. Throwing good money after bad is never a good idea.

But what cannot be denied, Save Jerseyans, is how Governor Chris Christie’s visit to Atlantic City on Thursday in advance of Memorial Day Weekend is just the latest example of our state’s renewed commitment to Atlantic City’s economic success. That’s a good thing overall.

South Jersey’s job market is inextricably connected to Atlantic City’s tourist industry. Those of you in Central and North Jersey aren’t immune; the state tax on Atlantic City’s gross casino revenue alone adds approximately $300 million to the state’s coffers every year. Every penny counts!

So for all those reasons (and to get away from Trenton and the Legislature), Governor Christie makes it a point to lavish A.C. with extra T.L.C. this time of year:

Are you sitting at home this weekend and looking for something “to do” last minute, Save Jerseyans?

Consider heeding the Governor’s advice and take an overnight getaway (or day trip, if finances dictate) to New Jersey’s first major beach resort this weekend. There’s plenty to do (as you might’ve heard) and, as an added benefit, you’d be helping keep your fellow state residents employed. Throw in a funnel cake and what more could you want out of a beach holiday?
