Mitt Romney is campaigning in battleground Virginia tomorrow (Saturday, 8/11).
And according to the Richmond Times-Dispatch, “‘The Romney Plan for a Stronger Middle Class’ tour will kick off in Norfolk, where Romney will tour the USS Wisconsin and attend a Victory event at the Nauticus Museum before setting off for Ashland. The final event of the day will be a rally at the Harris Pavilion in Manassas. The tour will continue on Sunday in North Carolina before rolling on to Florida and Ohio.” [Emphasis Added.]
Wow… the U.S.S. Wisconsin would be a great place to announce Vice Presidential candidate Paul Ryan (R-WI), wouldn’t it? Before kicking off an Ohio/Florida swing? Particularly since it’d be easy for the East Coast/D.C. press corps to get down there versus Wisconsin…
Could his pre-scheduled Colorado vacation be a misdirection?
Don’t think it’s that crazy. We know he’s likely in the “Final Four,” and the Romney campaign is quickly running out of time to make the announcement. Tomorrow millions of Americans will be home from work and glued to their television screens watching the second to last day of the London Olympic games.
Were I him, I’d want to milk every second of post-veep pick coverage between now and the convention; that’s a ton of free media for the two weeks leading into the convention (and before he can utilize his war chest).

I think Christie's position on global warming would alienate some of the blue collar voters that Romney needs to win.
I don't know what to think about Paul Ryan.
This is the way I see it. The biggest danger from Obama is not the higher tax rates but that he will keep spending the money as if there were no tomorrow. The disability program is out of control, the food stamp program is out of control, the ethanol program is drastically raising food prices now that there is a drought, healthcare insurance is getting more expensive and Obama is pushing idiotic projects like California's railroad to nowhere and the equally idiotic Access to the Region's Core project in NJ. And, more than 40% of immigrants are collecting welfare when they become eligible.
