Election 2012 is just 83 days away, Save Jerseyans, and the Republican National Convention is only a week down the road. That means campaigns (candidates and staff included) are fighting through the heat to maximize voter contacts while the rest of us are beginning or dreaming of a long-overdue summer vacation.
Earlier today, Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno made her fifth stop on a month-long “agribusiness” tour of the Garden State; this time, she visited Barnegat Light’s Viking Village in Ocean County. She may not be on the ballot until next year, but it’s clear enough to anyone watching that the Governor’s team is trying to keep her visibility up. For the regular reasons or a more mysterious purpose?
On Satuday (8/17), U.S. Senate Candidate Joe Kyrillos will stump in battleground Middlesex County; first, in South Brunswick around Noon at an EARTH Center Garden Field Day event and later in Iselin at a 1:30 p.m. Indo-American Flag raising ceremony. If he’s going to upset Bob Menendez in November, he probably needs to win in Middlesex like Governor Christie did in 2009.
U.S. Rep. Jon Runyan (R-NJ3) is coming off of a week centered on veterans affairs. He formed an advisory committee and hosted a veterans jobs expo in a distict dominatrd by Fort Dix. The Big Guy also deserves props for doubling-down on his consistent support of Paul Ryan.
Meanwhile, the ever-controversial but never discouraged NJ-6 Congressional Candidate Anna Little will assemble with supporters at her Woodbridge Campaign Office (located on Amboy Avenue) tomorrow morning for a canvassing effort.
