Yesterday, New Jersey’s Office of Legislative Services (OLS) released a new report to legislators predicting that FY 2012 revenue collections would fall $253.9 million short of the Governor’s projections. The problem with OLS’s latest guesstimate? OLS said it would be a $542 million shortfall just last month.
So what gives? Why does OLS continue to project revenues without, as Governor Christie correctly notes in the Haddonfield presser video below, receipts from five FY 2012 taxes? He has a theory, and it’s not flattering…
