You Stay Classy, New York Times

Staying true to its character (or lack thereof), The New York Times didn’t mention the September 11th Anniversay on its cover page today, but it did run with an opinion piece today that blames George W. Bush for 9/11.

Yup. You read that correctly.

The author does not accuse President Bush of staging the attack as a crazed truther would, but it does paint a totally-false and suspiciously partisan portrait of a U.S. President who, as its author would have you believe, callously and repeatedly ignored clear warnings of an attack and, having done so, missed chances to thwart the 9/11 attack altogether.

We won’t even repost any excerpts here on Save Jersey because it’s so unbelievably gross, Save Jerseyans. You can read the article here if your stomach lining can manage it.

Suffice it to say, I can only imagine what this blog’s liberal readers/detractors would say if your Blogger-in-Chief had published a different post today — on the 11th Anniversary of September 11th when 746 of our fellow New Jerseyans violently perished — exploring the Clinton Administration’s MANY failings in the years preceeding the 9/11 tragedy. I’ll leave that task to others.

Shame on the author of this NYT opinion piece for writing it, the NYT for running with it, and anyone else who really thinks today is an appropriate time to shill for the Obama Administration instead of honoring those who paid the ultimate price for their freedom and ours, too.

If you ever needed a case study for why Citizens United is an important decision towards achieving balance in the national political discourse, folks, this is certainly it.

  1. So, ignoring the facts once again because you're blinded by partisanship. They had the intelligence. He chose to ignore that intelligence starting in the spring. His own CIA director implored him to heed the warnings. Why do think this is an opinion piece when they have the evidence? While I give you timing is just plain wrong, the article is still eye opening.
