Democrat Indecision Plagues Buono

Don’t Hold Your Breath Waiting For THAT Star To Fall

Barbara BuonoI’m so tired of griping about the national debt, at least for today. Instead, I’ve redirected my attention back to the New Jersey governor’s race. It looks like the Democrats are trying really hard to rally around Buono, but I sense some hesitation…

Because what they really wanted and needed was Booker.

Now they are probably thinking to themselves, “can she really take on Christie?” He isn’t giving them any really juicy issues to bite into and tear apart. In fact, in a recently conducted Fairleigh Dickinson University PublicMind poll, Christie’s approval rating was 73% among registered voters and 68% rank his job performance as “Excellent” or “Good,” which has to be at least a little daunting for Buono. Methinks that is why nobody else has officially thrown another hat into the ring.

It’s a scary prospect indeed to run against someone held in such high regard, both in his own state as well as in those across the country.

Things just are not looking too peachy for the NJ Democrats, are they?

Booker decided to prime himself for a Senate run instead of the governorship, Sweeney made an outrageous statement that Christie prayed for Superstorm Sandy to hit in order to bolster job creation, Democratic jobs packages have not yielded any positive impact to date, and they can’t count on Christie vetoing a very recent Senate bill to expand the type of projects covered by labor agreements.

Nope, despite all of their efforts, Democrats just cannot seem to find a way to make Christie look bad and that has got to be frustrating them to no end.

So no one but Buono has the guts to take on Christie; I have to give her credit. Talk about an uphill battle. This one is going to seem like walking straight up the side of the Empire State Building, all the way to the top of the spire. Codey seems to still be flirting with the idea, but even he must suspect it will be a lost cause.

All of this noncommittal game playing is getting old. The Democratic party should just band around Buono, hail the fact that she is a female and try to capture that demographic to make up for her lack of “star power.” It won’t work, but give it the good old college try.

Just COME TOGETHER already!
