Richard Codey Opts Out of 2013 Democrat Primary

Sad news, Save Jerseyans.
After a very public flirtation with a 2013 gubernatorial bid, former Governor and current state Senator Dick Codey (D-Essex) told The Star-Ledger today that he is opting to forgo the opportunity. I guess Big Labor backing isn’t worth what it once did?
Now with George Norcross’s blessing in place down South, and both Senator Codey and the Mayor of Newark out of the picture as her only potentially credible Northern rival, the hapless Barbara Buono is all but assured the Democratic nomination and a chance to challenge Christie/Zuckerberg this fall.
A big ‘ole Dem war would’ve been fun. There’s always 2017…
