Ryan Gets Godly Treatment

U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI)By Matt Rooney | The Save Jersey Blog

They booed Paul Ryan yesterday at the presidential inauguration ceremony, Save Jerseyans.

But I wouldn’t lose sleep over it if I were him.

Remember: this same Obama loyalist crowd booed Israel and God at the Democratic National Convention in North Carolina last August. Rep. Ryan’s in good company. The best possible!

The inaugural invocation was a little light on God, too (the first ever to be delivered by layperson), though the Alimighty did make a brief appearance in the President’s speech to endorse climate change legislation. The President also admitted that our rights flowed from God (a very traditional, conservative, natural rights conceptualization), but continued on to argue that “[p]reserving our individual freedoms ultimately requires collective action,” and “[b]eing true to our founding documents […] does not mean we will all define liberty in exactly the same way… .”

The liberal god is a very strange and fickle being, folks.

Don’t ask me to explain its ways. I can’t.
