Middlesex GOP Convention Preview

Can Republicans Take Back Middlesex County in 2013?  The Story Begins On Saturday

Middlesex CountyThe Middlesex County Republican Convention is finally upon us, Save Jerseyans!

I have been looking forward to this event for quite some time for a number of reasons. It’s a great opportunity to meet with candidates and delegates from all across the county, to be surrounded by like-minded people who are collectively rooting for the advancement of our party goals and ideals, and to participate in the voting process that will put candidates on the ballot for the June primary.

Hundreds are expected to participate…

Interestingly, Middlesex is one of the few counties in the state that has a convention open to all registered voters.

How nice it is to live in a county that favors transparency in the voting process! In many other counties, the party committee members select the candidates for the primary and voters don’t get a chance to exercise an opinion until June. Not here.

And as an added bonus this year, the convention will be even more exciting, as Chris Christie is confirmed to present and to formally accept the party’s nomination for a second-term run as governor.

Additionally, we will come together to nominate and select candidates for the New Jersey Senate and two Assembly seats, Middlesex County Sherriff, and three Freeholder positions. State committeeman and woman positions are going to be selected this year as well.

With Governor Christie at the top of the Republican ticket, can the Party finally take back control of the county in the hopes of instituting positive and impactful change for residents?

Stay tuned, Save Jerseyans….the next eight months are sure to be interesting. Also check back tomorrow for coverage since myself and a couple other Save Jersey contributors will be there.

  1. I'll be there. Just deciding on whether to wear business attire or a Gadsden flag tee shirt…
