Examine the Parties’ Respective Federal Spending Plans and Tell Me Party is Insignificant… You Can’t!
By Matt Rooney | The Save Jersey Blog
The next time someone tells you that “party doesn’t matter” or that Paul Ryan is a RINO, I want you to look them square in the eyes and say: 5,035,000,000,000.
Ingrain this nifty chart in your memory:
For all of the talk you’ll hear on conservative talk radio and certain right-of-center blogs about Paul Ryan and the House GOP’s timidity on the important fiscal issues of our time, his budget would’ve save the American people over 5 trillion over the next decade; that’s over $15k for every American citizen (were it equally distributed).
I’m always telling you that party matters, Save Jerseyans, because it does.
Does $15,000 matter to you? I can only speak for myself, but the answer is unambiguously yes!
Does party always matter enough? No. The Trenton GOP’s failure to fight the substance of a minimum wage hike is evidence enough. All I’m asking for is a little perspective, something all-too rare in today’s world.
