Tom MacArthur at OC ConventionOcean County Convention CD3 results are in, Save Jerseyans:

MacArthur – 72

Hill – 54

Lonegan -3

Ocean’s line for the CD3 contest was all-but assured this week when Brick, a key town for Hill if he hoped to stage a successful floor challenger to the screening committee victor, came out in force behind MacArthur’s candidacy

On the U.S. Senate front, businessman Brian Goldberg triumphed by a significant margin after receiving the screening committee’s nod:

Goldberg – 107

Pezzullo – 25

Sabrin – 5

Turkavage – 5

The committee also endorsed incumbents Frank LoBiondo (NJ-2), Chris Smith (NJ04) and Freeholder Joe Vicari by acclamation.

  1. The boys from Beirut must be back!!!

On the other hand, word is that Mrs. Goldberg will be endorsing Sabrin (or Bell or Pezzullo or anybody but Brian)! LOL!!

  2. Two interesting notes.
One is that the screening committee screened Chris Isola after Goldberg, and reportedly pleaded with him to jump in to the race. He politely declined.
The second is that the last candidate that ran to be screened was… Brian Goldberg. And the night Murray Sabrin got the most votes at the Middlesex screening, the candidate that spoke last was… Murray Sabrin. In fact, the speaking order was Goldberg, Pezzullo, Turkavage, Sabrin, and the final vote was Sabrin, Turkavage, Pezzullo, Goldberg. Is it just me, or do these screening committees have a serious habit of going with whoever’s fresh in their mind?

  3. Where was Jeff Bell tonight? I thought he and Lonegan were going to run on the same line. Oh well, maybe Lonegan can recruit Rich Pezzullo who managed to get 22 votes.

  4. Lonegan said he also believes he’s the favorite to win both the GOP nomination and the seat given his vote tally in the district during his recent U.S. Senate campaign against Democrat Cory Booker. Although Booker won the seat, Lonegan beat him in the 3rd District.

“I’m still the guy who beat Cory Booker five months ago,” he said. “This is about establishment Republicans versus conservatives,”

Yeah and you are the guy NOW CURRENTLY who NO ONE WANTS OR WANTED IN OCEAN AND BURLCO LOLOLOL But hey like the toxic little twerp who will throw another tantrum he and his sad little toadies will try to bully people to vote for him. NEWS FLASH wont work!!!

  5. El Conchristiedor: I think Bell is trying to win this one with money. He’s the best funded and his strategy is to win the counties without lines. He’s still with Lonegan.
