A sign of things to come this weekend, Save Jerseyans? On Thursday morning, Assemblyman Declan O’Scanlon announced his support for U.S. Senate candidate Rich Pezzullo (R-Freehold) ahead of Saturday’s Monmouth County convention.
“Rich Pezzullo has a unique combination of skills that are rare in the Senate,” Assemblyman O’Scanlon said in a campaign press release.
“He has firsthand knowledge of the effects of over-regulation on different types of businesses, the confidence and bearing from 20 years as an Army officer and a command of the issues that is desperately needed in Washington. We need to send Rich Pezzullo to the Senate where the fight for fiscal restraint, accountability and much needed regulatory relief for New Jersey calls for his energy, vision and commitment.”
Pezzullo, a computer technician, former EMT and retired Major with the US Army Reserve, finished 2nd at Wednesday’s Ocean County Convention but continues to impress committee members with passionate, articulate floor speeches. That attribute earned him the Union County nod earlier this month.
“Rich Pezzullo is a man of action, which is important now more than ever because what Washington needs is more action, not more speeches, tweets or Facebook posts,” added O’Scanlon.
The GOP county convention circuit heats up now with Cumberland (tonight), Mercer (Friday), Monmouth and Middlesex (Saturday), Atlantic (Monday), Somerset (Tuesday), and Hunterdon (next Thursday).
Pezzullo and Jeff Bell are the only candidates with solid endorsements. One of those 2 is going to win this primary, mark my words.
Turkavage is going to drop, Goldberg has approximately $0 and has two young children and is going through a divorce, and Murray Sabrin’s campaign is in a tailspin. Realistically, New Jersey is left with two real choices in Rich Pezzullo and Jeff Bell.
