Lost Love for Mia? Be Sure It’s Your Own Decision

By Alyssa Lafage | The Save Jersey Blog

Mia LoveI just caught up on Glenn’s monologue from Wednesday, Save Jerseyans, and I’m disappointed to say the least concerning his opinion of Mia Love’s vote for Speaker Boehner.

I am a firm believer that talk radio has an important role to play. It has done/can do a lot of good in motivating us and also keeping us informed. But these last few days have really showcased the worst of its influence in more ways than one.

Too many conservatives seem to be abandoning their critical thinking abilities in favor of agreeing with their favorite talk show host. These guys (and gals) opinions should not be the end of your thoughts on an issue or, in this case, a person.

I can’t stress this enough: READ.

Research for yourself.

Go out of your way to come up with a different conclusion even if its just for the sake of proving to yourself that its okay to think differently.

I’m afraid that many of my conservative friends are buying into group think and setting aside the very thing that has made us different from the Left: our ability to reason.

  1. You are absolutely right. Research and understand the workings before making a decision. The average citizen does not know the intricacies in Congress. Would a new speaker have created more of a division? Experience does count for something. Mia is a smart young woman, Sometimes you “go with the flow” so to speak to ultimately achieve your goal. And with the first Republican Congress in many years…slow and steady can work better then slash and burn.

  2. Bad leadership, back room deals, and the massive spending done under this leader, should not have been rewarded, period. These are just a few examples of how bad he has been as a leader. Congressmen are supposed to listen to the people that hired them. 60% of Republicans wanted him gone! But only a fraction of them listened.
