After the speeches were over and the buses began rolling out, Save Jerseyans, the after party to make at Monday’s Statewide GOP Event in Atlantic City was poolside at the Water Club.
“It was a great way to cap off the energy for the entire day,” Essex Chair Al Barlas told me after the wrap up, one of three co-hosts of the event along with fellow chairmen Al Gaburo (Somerset) and Bill Layton (Burlington). “A lot of folks are excited about what Jon Bramnick did, and a lot of people want to see it happen every year.”
The goal, Al said, was to get people talking. And it did.
At tables placed beneath palm fronds, about 150 NJ GOP consultants, elected officials, party leaders and assorted donors, among them Senator Tom Kean, Jr., Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno and, of course, Leader Jon Bramnick, swapped intel and caught up over drinks well into the evening.
“I want to see it happen next year, too,” Al added, referring to the day’s events cumulatively. “We need it. Someone needs to do it”
