Murder-suicide??
The Somerset County prosecutor’s office announced its examiner’s conclusion on Friday afternoon that John Sheridan, former head of the Cooper Health System and a popular New Jersey politico, murdered his wife, Joyce, and then set fire to the couple’s home before committing suicide on September 28, 2014.

News had been slow coming in this grisly and tragic tale; most recently, in February, it was announced that Mrs. Sheridan had succumb to stab wounds rather than smoke inhalation from the fire.
Until now, investigators were tight-lipped about any possible suspects.
To make things ever more complicated, the sons of the deceased couple have issued a statement disputing the investigation’s findings. All of this is happening with the annual New Jersey/Pennsylvania political world’s star-studded Cooper Gala as a backdrop, scheduled for Friday evening in Philadelphia.
