Significant party defections and soft base support back home in New Jersey have certainly helped put the hurt on Governor Chris Christie’s nascent presidential campaign, Save Jerseyans.
But for whatever it’s worth? He’s still the choice of a narrow plurality of Garden Staters evaluating the GOP field.
Here are the results of Fairleigh Dickinson’s latest PublicMind poll listed in order of popularity:

An inspiring performance? No, but a win is a win at a time like this, and his relatively strong showing among women contrasts positively with other recent polling.
“Nationally the field remains largely wide open on the Republican side. The only twist is back at home, Christie remains the favored son by a narrow margin,” opined Krista Jenkins, director of PublicMind. “Of course, it would help his case if he was the clear favorite among New Jersey Republicans, and other establishment candidates like Bush and Walker were handily eclipsed by Republican support for Christie. But, with his continued struggles among voters back home, Christie’s slight edge over others is a win.”
Hilldawg, on the other hand, has a clear lead among Democrats at 62%.

All this proves to me is that female voters are not very bright.
