New Poll: Christie at 1% in Iowa

By Matt Rooney | The Save Jersey Blog

iowaI don’t think this result surprises anyone, Save Jerseyans, but Chris Christie is sitting at the bottom of the 2016 GOP heap in Iowa according to a new Monmouth University Polling Institute survey ahead of a Friday visit to Davenport.

1% of polled prospective caucus goers are leaning his way. 26% view him favorably; 51% hold the opposite view.

Scott Walker is presently on top.

“Walker has been a favorite of Iowa voters ever since his well-received appearance at the Iowa Freedom summit in January. More recently, Trump has outmaneuvered the rest of the field to earn the second spot despite his controversial statements over the weekend,” opined Patrick Murray, director of West Long Branch-based polling outfit.
