Alison Littell McHose (R-24) is officially ending her last week as a state legislator, Save Jerseyans.
“I will be resigning from the NJ General Assembly effective 10/17/15,” McHose announced to key State Assembly leaders on Friday in an e-mail obtained by Save Jersey. “It has been a pleasure and an honor to serve as the third generation of the Littell family in the people’s house.”
Her father, former state Senator Robert Littell, passed away at the end of 2014.
One of the chamber’s more reliable conservative, McHose served in the New Jersey General Assembly since 2003 representing New Jersey’s rural and red 24th Legislative District.
The initial news of her departure created waves and even catalyzed the resignation of a GOP county chairwoman. Long story short, Assemblywoman McHose had announced her intention to resign back in January 2015 to serve as administrator of Franklin Borough but held off on announcing a resignation date as her party engaged in a heated primary to replace her on the general election ballot. Incumbent Assemblyman Parker Space (R-24) and his running mate to replace McHose, Sussex Freeholder Gail Phoebus, are heavy favorites to win on November 3rd.
We wish Alison all the best as she formally begins a new chapter of her life, one which will be blissfully removed from that daily commute to Trenton!
_____
Life.
Post-Trenton life.
Existence makes it sound like she’ll fade from memory and cease to have any effect on New Jersey when the opposite is true. Alison will continue to have an impact and the citizens of Franklin will be better for it.
