During a Thursday town hall in South Carolina, Save Jerseyans, Ohio Governor John Kasich told a CNN audience that one presidential cabinet prospect sticks out in his mind: Chris Christie.
“I like Chris Christie a whole lot,” Kasich said responded, volunteering his New Jersey colleague’s name. “He’s somebody that was a candidate that would be considered.”

Kasich reportedly reached out to comfort Christie after his New Hampshire loss, telling him “the sun is going to come up.”
It remains to be seen if this will prove to be a real career opportunity (or not) for Christie. Governor Kasich isn’t polling well in South Carolina but he’s expected to try to stay in the race until at least Michigan and his home state of Ohio vote over the next month.
