Asbury Park Press calls for Christie’s resignation

By The Staff | The Save Jersey Blog

christie 9-11Calling the Governor “an embarrassment” and “an utter disgrace,” The Asbury Park Press has become New Jersey’s first newspaper to call for Chris Christie’s resignation.

“It has been obvious for at least two years that Christie has put personal ambition ahead of the interests of New Jersey citizens. Sadly, members of his own party have displayed no backbone in trying to rein him in,” the editorial board wrote. “When he has said ‘jump,’ they have responded, in unison, ‘how high?’ And the Democratic Party’s weak leadership has failed to fill the power vacuum. Christie has taken his hands off the rudder, and no one has rushed forward to help steer the boat.”

  1. This is going too far but hes strayed far from his 2009 Coalition and these are the poor results. Luckily it seems the Democrats have not learned from McGreevey-Corzine so we may have another opportunity in 2021.

  2. Leadership is not long distance management! A Politician, a Lawyer, a Bully, a Prosecutor Jennie Craig’s most wanted man, a Power player, but not a Leader. Like Trump said, Christie “Go Home”! Mr. Trump Speaks for all of US!

  3. Gov. Fat Ass is angling for the AG spot in the Trump regime. He couldn’t care less what the voters in NJ think of him or that the dinosaur press are baying for his blood.

  4. No. This is ridiculous. Left-wing NJ media is dangerous. Calling for a governors’ resignation because they don’t like who he endorses. What will these jack-asses say when Trump wins NJ? And, I’m not even a Trump supporter.

  5. What’s matter with ya, app??? If you want him to resign now, and the NJ Gov voting is in this Nov….. What’s difference it make and gonna cost more on NJ taxpayers for special election and the regular election is only 7 months away… Idiots!!! Back off, Dems!!

  6. I use the APP to train my dog… The only useful thing I can find for that paper
Not a fan of crispy, but that paper is so far to the left its funny…
The minute they start reporting more balanced view, I would pay attention

  7. I happen to think Christie is a good govenor and has tried to put NJ on the right tracks. It is very difficult to work in a state, which has a strong Democratic Party population and a strong state & teacher’s union. To me, it is a shame that not enough jersey and had supported their govenor who had run for president. I think maybe still people feel Hurricane Sandy should have given them not a money or perhaps they miss having a ” good ” govemor like gov. Corzine who created the mess our present govenor is trying to fix!

  8. Sorry but I think he has been a terrible Governor. maybe if he had spent more time helping to get Republicans elected in this state he would have at least the state senate or assembly to help him. It is sad that we astually lost Repuublican legislators on his watch. He is way to interested in feathering his own nest.

  9. NJ democrats have ruled the state legislature and mainly this state for a very long time and a few republicans Governers have tried to make some changes, but its time for real change statewide get rid of the Dem’s and Rep’s that have beaten this state up, with party politics. People of New Jersey wake up and make real change. we need for Gov. Christie to pledge to concentrate on NJ again and help this Garden State to be a place people want to live and work and raise their families

  10. He showed his true colors. An three strikes your out.
•Strike ONE – Hugging, Praising and thanking Obama.
•Strike TWO – Hugging a murderer, Hilary Clinton like dear old Friends.
    •Strike THREE – Endorsing a Con-Artist, Donald J. Trump.
Christie “We the People of the State of New Jersey Demand your RESIGNATION.

  11. My taxes shouldn’t be paying for him to campaign for Trump. Either govern or step down so someone else can do the job to which you were elected.
