A prominent forensics expert from New York City is the latest voice to question the circumstances surrounding the death of John P. Sheridan

“The forensic evidence is consistent with an individual wearing gloves, entering the house through an unlocked door to intentionally harm the Sheridans or to commit a burglary that went awry,”explained Michael Baden in an affidavit obtained by The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Sheridan, a veteran of N.J. political circles who served as Cooper Health System’s CEO at the time of his death and his wife, Joyce, who were found dead inside their Montgomery Township back in September 2014.

Their deaths – and the subsequent conclusion that it was allegedly a murder-suicide – set off a firestorm in New Jersey.

Pressure continues to build for a second look. This February, a grouping of approximately 200 prominent New Jerseyans – including three former governors – signed a letter asking the investigation to be reopened

Geoffrey D. Soriano, the Somerset County prosecutor who oversaw the case, was sacked by Chris Christie around the same time.
