Victorious Guadagno says she’ll cut N.J. taxes or quit after one term

Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno kicked off her general election campaign on Tuesday evening by pledging to quit the job she’s seeking after four years  if she doesn’t lower New Jerseyans’ tax burden.

“To make New Jersey more affordable, we need a governor who will put people before profits, Main Street before Wall Street, and what’s best for New Jersey families ahead of the special interests,” said Guadagno. “This is my pledge to the hardworking people of New Jersey: if I don’t reduce property taxes during my first term as governor, I won’t stand for re-election.”

New Jersey’s property taxes, the worst in the nation, have continued to climb on the Christie Administration’s watch.

Guadagno’s partial solution? Her so-called “circuit breaker” plan to subsidize increases to a certain percentage for a portion of the population.

She will face off with Wall Street gazillionaire Phil Murphy (D-Goldman Sachs) in November.
