MacArthur huddles with Pence as potential SALT deduction showdown looms

Tom MacArthur (R, NJ-03) is one of the key GOP federal legislators who appears willing to stonewall tax reform over the reported White House inclination to eliminate local tax deductions

On Tuesday, the South Jersey Trump health care ally huddled with none other than Vice President Mike Pence as discussions continued in Washington, D.C.:

“Met w @VP today to discuss the importance of the SALT deduction. He reaffirmed @realDonaldTrump commitment to tax cuts for the middle class,” tweeted MacArthur.

42.2% of New Jersey federal taxpayers deducted their state and local income and property taxes on their tax year 2015 returns.
