NJ-11: DeNeufville focuses on Murphy, state issues

CHATHAM, N.J. — Peter DeNeufville is a bit of a long-shot for the spring’s 11th Congressional District GOP nomination.

He’s trying to make up for his late entry (and lack of institutional support) by directing his latest attacks not at presumptive Democrat nominee Mikie Sherrill or the other Republican candidates but Governor Phil Murphy.

“The Governor said he will go anywhere in New Jersey, and I invite him to do so now. He and the Democrat candidates who share his extreme liberal policies must come to Denville, Sparta, Wayne or West Caldwell —inside the heart of our 11th District — to explain why they insist on raising taxes on the most over-taxed voters in the United States and why the Democrats are so fixated on throwing those tax dollars on lawsuits to prevent federal authorities from arresting criminals who entered this nation illegally. These policies underscore why voters of the 11th District should send me to Washington, not one of Governor Murphy’s cronies,” said DeNeufville in a Tuesday press release.

“Trenton politicians won’t get things done in Washington, but I will,” added DeNeufville.

Murphy is giving Republican candidates a bit of an opening this week, announcing his intention to campaign for Democrat congressional candidates this cycle and, in the process, giving N.J. Republican candidates an opportunity to talk about the Democrat Governor’s extreme far-left record instead of the comparatively less-appetizing topic of President Trump.

In order to cross paths with Murphy on the fall trail, DeNeufville first needs to get past Assemblyman Jay Webber (R-26), the race’s fundraising leader, and Antony Ghee — endorsed by the Passaic and Essex counties’ respective lines.
