Earlier Tuesday, Governor Phil Murphy and the senior legislative leadership tried to sell a local business owner (of the Ocean Bay Diner) on the Democrat $15 minimum wage plan.
It didn’t go well:

This is what the NJ Diner owner hosting the press event for @GovMurphy and @SenatorSweeney @SpeakerCoughlin on $15 minimum wage had to say…

But then came this follow up:

Statements and “clarifications” were quickly issued by the parties to the diner sit-down. Of course, it’s equally unclear as to why the diner owner suddenly believes $15 will work better for his business in five years than right now…
Crack advance work, but @MattFriedmanNJ tweeted that someone already “talked” to the diner owner. He’s now excited the phase-in will give him time to sell to @QuickChek and their automated checkout kiosks. #MinimumWage https://t.co/LkeVoqx72w
