Budget preview: N.J. state spending ‘is a mile wide and an inch deep’

TRENTON, N.J. –  Governor Phil Murphy will deliver his second budget address next Tuesday, March 5th. Last year? He raised taxes $1.5 billion and spending $2.7 billion (an 8% increase). 

What should we look forward to hearing this year? And what do you need to know?

Assemblyman John DiMaio (who serves as the Republican budget officer) says it’s ugly, and it’s also bound to get much uglier without an immediate and dramatic change in direction.
