Menendez redeclares war on beach umbrellas

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Bob Menendez is once again banging the drum for beach umbrella safety awareness. 

The once-indicted Menendez visited Manasquan on Monday to demand increased regulation for umbrellas used by the nation’s beach-going public every summer. Beach umbrella-related injuries aren’t common (about 30,000 over the course of two years) in light of the millions who hit the sand and surf annually, but New Jersey’s senior senator believes it’s a top priority.
