Geller – who previously worked for New Jersey candidates including Chris Christie – is credited as helping detect Trump’s 2016 strength in Midwestern battleground states. He left the campaign team after a widely-discussed pollster shake-up earlier this year. Holding onto his 2016 gains, notably Michigan (which the GOP hadn’t previously carried since 1988), is considered critical to the Trump reelection strategy.
