The Oscars air this Sunday, Save Jerseyans, which means the nominations are already in. Someone forgot to tell New Jersey’s junior senator.
Cory Booker (D-Twitter) resumed his high school musical-quality theatrical performance at Wednesday’s confirmation hearing (day #3) for Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson. Ranting. Raving. Feigning getting choked up. For Wednesday’s matinee, Booker decided to passionately defend Jackson, a former public defender, from Republican criticism of her shockingly light sentences handed down to convicted sex offenders.
“You were put on a court, that I’m told, is considered like the second most powerful court in our land. And you were passed with bipartisan support. Nobody brought it up then,” said Booker. “Did they not do their homework?”
With no apparent sense of irony, Booker – who declared himself “Spartacus” during the Kavanaugh hearings – added his opinion that the “allegations appear meritless to the point of demagoguery.”
Then it got weird. Even for Booker. He started talking about his family, her family, and their… ancestors?
“She had to have your back. I see my ancestors and yours,” he said.
Seeing/hearing is believing. Here’s an excerpt:
