One of the American Revolution’s pivotal battlegrounds took a shot at the First Amendment on Thursday, Save Jerseyans.
In a 4-3 vote, the City of Trenton’s council adopted a resolution calling on the U.S. Congress to “undertake an immediate review of all laws which provide for the regulation of expression” and “to take all necessary remedial action.” The strangely-constructed resolution cites “cancel cuture” as a justification for federal legislators to act.
Confused? You’re not alone.
Condemnation of the resolution was immediate from The Trentonian and on social media:
Four members of Trenton council voted 4-3 in favor of Congress revisiting laws regarding freedom of speech on social media. Are they out of their damn minds?

Let's restrict someone else's free speech so I'm free to speak about what I want without fearing backlash or criticism. That's my reading of that resolution.
