The math for New Jersey Republicans is rough this cycle, Save Jerseyans, since the corrupt new redistricting map left few truly competitive U.S. House districts on the board.
That being said, there’s still reason for optimism. Wave elections produce interesting results and there are two districts – NJ-03 and NJ-05 – where the odds remain daunting but Jack Ciattarelli came within 1-point of defeating Phil Murphy in November. Gas hasn’t gotten any cheaper since the fall, folks!
One indicator of a favorable GOP environment: primary turnout.
Republican turnout is way up from 2018 (the last midterm cycle and not a good one for the GOP), and the participation gap between Republicans and Democrats was relatively modest on Tuesday notwithstanding the Dems’ massive one million registered voter statewide advantage.
The results are consistent with a steady stream of polling this year showing a GOP voter enthusiasm edge.
Check out these early numbers (remember: VBMs are still trickling in):
As of 8 AM, GOP Primary turnout in NJ is 288,397 voters. This is over 62k more voters than 2018, & counting is far from done.
The takeaway is clear: Voters are embracing the GOP’s message of lowering gas prices, fixing this crippling inflation & getting America back on track!

Noteworthy: New Jersey has more than a million more Democrats than Republicans, with registration at 39% Dem, 23% GOP, but turnout in 2022 primary was 56% Dem, 44% GOP.
