Someone is taking a shot at Phil Murphy from the Left, Save Jerseyans.
On Monday, the governor announced his latest plan to spend our money: $4,000 subsidies for electric vehicles and another $250 to defray the cost of home charging stations. It’s as silly as it is ridiculously expensive like everything this guy does. Nothing new to see here.
What’s much more interesting than the plan itself: two days earlier, Salon.com dropped a commentary piece titled “New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy has a paper-thin climate change plan.” The article is an indictment (again, from the Left) of the sincerity of Governor Murphy’s environmental track record, citing various green types from New Jersey who were willing to go on record accusing Murphy of being all talk and no action.
“Murphy wants to talk about climate change but he doesn’t really want to do anything,” offered Jeff Tittel, ex-director of the New Jersey Sierra Club. “When it comes to the actual DEP personnel and budget we are half of what we were 30 years ago while the problems have gotten worse and the types of programs we need to be bigger and we are just not there to meet the challenge.”
Murphy is also running for president.
Did a potential 2024 rival just dump a pile of opposition research on the New Jersey governor’s head? Sure reads like it.
